Free Consultation

I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to meet with a skilled birth professional to discuss their options, desires and concerns involving the birth of their child. Mireya Midwifery provides free consultations to give every family this opportunity.

Prenatal Visits

We can begin prenatal care as soon as you are ready. Most providers will not see you earlier than 12 weeks. We realize that this can be a very exciting time in your life and that you might want support sooner than 12 weeks. Keep in mind that we will not be able to hear your baby's heart beat until at least 10 weeks. Otherwise, our prenatal schedule is the same as the doctor's and is as follows:

~ Every four weeks until 28 weeks

~ Every two weeks from 28 weeks- 36 weeks

~ Every week from 36 weeks- 40 weeks

~ 1-2 times per week after due date depending on your individual circumstances.

Phone & Email Support

I am available through phone call, text, and email almost every minute of every day. If you can't catch me on the first phone call, please reach out via text message or email and give me one business day to respond to non-emergent inquiries.

During Labor

You are considered full term and ready to have your homebirth at 37 weeks pregnant. I will be on call for you starting at that point and will typically be with you from the start of active labor until at least two hours after baby is born. As a midwife, I will perform all clinical tasks to ensure the health and well-being of the mother and baby. We assess the mother's temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation as well listening to fetal heart tones throughout the labor process. These few things can tell so much about how everyone is handling the labor process. I am also a skilled doula and can help the partner to know how to help with labor support when it is needed. Families typically report birth as a more positive experience when the partner is the one that provides labor support.

Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding can be the most rewarding AND hardest thing you ever do in your life. Many women don't realize that breastfeeding can be challenging and unfortunately this skill has been lost through the generations. I am a firm believer that every woman should have access to breastfeeding support. Every client will receive the breastfeeding support they need. Not a client? Give me a call so that we can arrange a time for a breastfeeding consultation.
